U1P-Care Ultra1Plus Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) comprises a high-purity urea and de-ionized water solution, serving as the essential operating fluid for vehicles employing Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. Engineers designed this technology to adhere to the stringent 2010 emission standards, aimed at reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) exhaust emissions from diesel engines. The fluid is stored in a designated DEF tank and is injected into the exhaust system before the catalytic converter facilitates the conversion of NOx into harmless nitrogen and water vapor. How It Works: The majority of contemporary diesel vehicles incorporate Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, an innovative system that leverages Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to curtail emissions of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM) from diesel engines. DEF is a liquid mixture comprising 67.5% deionized water and 32.5% urea. When introduced into the catalytic converter, DEF instigates a chemical process that transforms NOx into water and nitrogen, resulting in a notable reduction in NOx and PM emissions, alongside a modest enhancement in fuel efficiency. Why not use a 100% urea solution? DEF provides the highest degree of practical NOx reduction in real-life automotive conditions. Using DEF at a 32.5% solution in water is cost-effective. Also, it allows the engine to perform at the highest levels of efficiency and the widest range of climatic temperatures – anything above 12 degrees Fahrenheit. Maintaining DEF Your vehicle’s supply of DEF must be maintained, as government regulations prohibit you from starting the engine without it. Your car’s message center will give you a warning when your DEF level is low and will alert you in plenty of time to book a refill. Please refer to your Owner's Handbook for more information. What is the shelf life of DEF? If the DEF is stored at ambient temperatures of 75 F with no major periods of exposure to heat over 86 F then the batch of DEF will last roughly two years. If a package of DEF is exposed to periods of heating the fluid will last approximately one year. U1P-Care Diesel Exhaust Fluid highlights: ✔ For use in all SCR emission control systems. ✔ Non-toxic, odorless, and colorless. ✔ Non-flammable. ✔ Non-polluting. ✔ Meets ISO 22241 and API certifications.
